Leading British Bank Launches Embedded Retail Finance Business with Divido

A leading British bank wanted to easily offer its highstreet retail partner embedded retail finance for its web stores and needed a solution. The goal was to offer 15 million people who hold an account with the retailer a seamless option to sign up for a revolving credit account. 

Data from customer research flagged the growing demand for revolving credit, and leadership from the bank and retailer identified a store credit account as a key initiative to win sales from competitors.

The top-10 British retail giant has a strong, premium reputation and so leadership decided to launch a whitelabel solution using Divido to drive customer loyalty under their own brand.

Solution

The bank chose Powered by Divido to deliver its consumer application journey, lender and merchant management portals, consumer portal, data analytics, and webstore integration. Divido continues to provide ongoing strategic consultation and tech support.

Shoppers now visit the retailer’s website to complete a simple finance application. Successful applicants see their credit available directly within their Store Account on the merchant website. Customers use the credit simply by clicking the finance option at checkout, without the need to visit third-party websites.

The Divido platform gave the retailer full control of its value proposition. It chose to offer customers £500 of revolving credit, with up to 45 days interest free finance, and 23.9% APR.

 

Results

Divido’s platform flexibility meant the retailer was able to drive adoption with a “20% off your first order” campaign. Customers were successfully converted to the store credit account and showed increased repeat spend and loyalty to the retailer.
